You will find yourself not wanting to leave and when you do, you will want to return. Meadow View sits well back from the paved/plowed road and is very private. In Redding, tour the famous Sundial Bridge, take your kids to Waterworks Park or visit the Turtle Bay Museum and Animal habitat. Redding has complete shopping, to include a Costco, Mt. Shasta Mall and a Trader Joes to stock up before heading up the Mountain toward Lassen and Mountain View Cottage. We are within an easy mile walk to Lake McCumber (See photo). Summertime, you can hike for hours or all day on the 129 miles of trails in beautiful Lassen Volcanic Park 11 miles to the east. Visit Burney Falls Park, a 45 minute drive, and hike to the Falls or go boating. Or just lounge around the lovely lakes in a kayak. Bike on quiet pine studded roads or fish for rainbow trout at Lake McCumber or Manzanita Lake or famous Hat Creek, all less than a half hour away. Wintertime, there is snowshoeing, cross country skiing, sledding, and some snowmobile trails in the park. There are some small wineries within a 30 minute drive and a wild horse refuge. Custom built log cabin with over 5,700 square feet of luxurious comfort. From the high log beam ceilings to the grand windows, your eyes will be delighted with the beauty that surrounds you. Our home is 3 stories, with the two upper stories open to our guests. The basement is reserved for the owners when they come to stay but is always vacant while guests are at the lodge. The two upper stories have wood burning fire places for those chilly mornings or cozy evenings. Two bedrooms with King sized beds are on the lower level, each with their own full bathroom. Two additional bedrooms with Queen sized beds along with the game room with two twin beds and the master loft with a double bed are upstairs and share a full bathroom. The upstairs TV room has a very comfortable air-spring hide a bed and the game room has a queen air bed. Four decks wrap the different levels of the home allowing most rooms access to the outdoors. We have many seating areas on the decks with comfortable chairs and tables. The roof look-out deck is one of our favorite places to escape for a glass of wine or game of cards. Our kitchen is large enough for the entire family to take part in making meals and creating memories. The large dining table and ample seating at the bar allows everyone to dine together. The home is on a sleepy lane with a gorgeous meadow full of wild flowers across the street. It is perfect for a morning walk or bike ride with the kids. You will find all kinds of beautiful wildlife in the woods surrounding the house. Lake McCumber is just 5 minutes from our home, and Lassen Volcanic Park just 10 minutes away.
